After the last two episodes of ‘The Flash’ dealt with a giant monkey having a temper tantrum, we get back to main plot of Season 3, the giant speedster Robot, Savitar. With tonight’s episode, “The Wrath of Savitar” we are treated with one of the best episodes so far of Season 3.
The idea of Wally becoming fast enough to successfully save Iris from Savitar, only shortly after getting his powers and training for a few weeks, when Barry, “The Fastest Man Alive” can’t after years of mastering his powers. Speaking of Iris, though her and Barry relationship is adorable, it is still SO WEIRD that everyone (especially Joe) is ok with basically two siblings getting married.
After Savitar starts to haunt Wally, Team Flash contacts Savitar again, greeting us with another intense scene where we are treated to another intense “Julian Puppet Scene” that ends with a creepy warning about Savitar’s Identity (cough cough future Barry, theory article coming soon). Then the normal CW drama continues but done it a better way, advancing a lot of the characters and continuing their arcs, with no real action. Savitar is successfully tearing the team apart, from the inside in a despicable way, until he escapes the Speedforce. Once escaped, we get a pretty cool fight scene between Barry and Savitar, made better because they switched to a practical Savitar instead of just a full CGI version.
“The Wrath of Savitar” was by far one of the better episodes of Season 3 and a pretty intense story that finally forwarded the main plot of the season, it does get pretty brutal along the way, while fulfilling Savitar’s Prophecy. Interested to see where the rest of this goes. Have a few theories I will be making an article on soon. See you next week! 7.5/10
