‘Arrow’ “ Kapiushon” Recap/Review

Tonight simply featured the darkest episode of Arrow yet, continuing a, dare I say it, wonderful season. Watch Oliver get broken in the present and then turn into the “monster” we watched in Season 1.

Oliver has been taken prisoner by Adrian Chase, Prometheus, and is being tortured mentally and physically until he tells Adrian his “secret.” We are treated to some gut wrenching torture scenes that are BRUTAL. The majority of this episode is told through the Russian flashbacks, where we see Oliver transform into the Monster he was in Season 1, where Oliver is even seen as a brutal monster by RUSSIAN MOBSTERS. Once Oliver is broken, will things ever be the same for Team Arrow?

Stephen-Amell-as-Green-Arrow-in-Arrow-episode-KapiushonAdrian and Oliver’s scenes were some of the best acted scenes in CWDC TV, Stephen really shines with this calculating psychotic villain and you see him truly broken. The action in this episode is reminiscent of Season 1 but upgraded with better fight choreography and an intenser Oliver. In my opinion, Adrian has solidified himself as the best Arrow villain yet, he has broken Oliver and every scene he is in your eyes are glued to the screen. I cannot say anything but good things about this episode and I am so excited to see how the rest of this season pans out, after the disasters that were Season 3 and 4, I can happily Season 5 has been great, and tonight might have been the best episode of Arrow.
