If previous work is anything to go by, then we should expect some great action from David Leitch in the Deadpool sequel. We now have confirmation of that directly from the director himself. In an interview with Empire, David Leitch talked about what he’s going to bring to the table in terms of action scenes and fight choreography.
- “There’s more action in this film. I hope we can expand it and make it interesting in an 87Eleven kinda way,” Leitch tells Empire, referring to the fight choreography school he runs with his John Wick co-director Chad Stahelski.
He also talks about how he still wants to keep the tone from the original film intact and expand the universe at the same time.
- “The completely irreverent tone was the thing that won me over about the first Deadpool movie,” he enthuses. “I want to deliver on what they did and at the same time hopefully expand the universe.”
David Leitch’s next film Atomic Blonde, starring Charlize Theron, is set to release 28th of July, 2017.
