With Star Wars Celebration taking place next month (April 13-16) in Orlando, Florida, there were only a few things have known to expect, mainly the trailer for Star Wars Episode 8 The Last Jedi, but now Lucasfilms rumored future plans for the franchised have been revealed by Star Wars News Net. Three films post 2019
- Obi-Wan Kenobi Film The first rumored film is said to be an Obi Wan film set to take place between Revenge of The Sith and A New Hope. We most recently saw Obi-Wan in the past season of Star Wars Rebles
“Kathleen Kennedy and the res of Lucasfilm fully intend to make an Obi-Wan movie set between Revenge of The Sith and A New Hope, with Ewan McGregor in tow”
Director of Rouge One Gareth Edwards, impressed Kathleen Kennedy with his film so much she supposedly wants him back to head the film. The most exciting aspect of this film though id that an announcement is rumored to happen within a few weeks! Star Wars Celebration? 😉
“An announcement of an Obi-Wan movie might just be one of the big sunrises at Celebration Orlando. This is possibility supported by the existence of a few materials that were made in conjunction of the event.”
2. Boba Fett Film
The same situation applys to a Bobba Fett movie that the Obi-Wan movie has, its been rumored for awhile and the fans want it, but nothing has happened. It was heavily rumored two years ago that Josh Tark was set to direct the movie but his name has since dropped out. The new project will supposedly use the same pitch that it had when Tark was attached to it but even then the script for the movie was not yet finished.
“Rest assured, the Bobba Fett movie is not dead. As far as I can tell, the movie will most likely not be an origin story. It’s not stricly a Bobba Fett movie, but a film about an ensembleof bounty hunters on an adventure. It sounds as though Fett is just one important componet to the movie as opposed to the central character.”
3. Young Adult Romance Film
The last rumored film is said to focus more on the young adult audience and have underlining love themes, mainly appealing the the female side of movie goers. It’s said to be a tragedy with a love like Han and leia’s in Episode 5.
Finally for the future of Star Wars Lucasfilms is rumored to take a break after the release of Star Wars Episode 9. The break is for two reasons, One is that Star Wars television is set to have a larger impact and Lucasfilms wants to starve the market of Star Wars movies to make sure audiences stay interested and not fatigued by the amount of movies.
A fourth trilogy is also rumored, but is said to take a long break because Lucasfilms sees the main trilogy’s as a generational occurrence. This most likely means when we see our heros after Episode 9 they are sure to be older and taking on the mentor role.
That’s all for the rumores of Lucasfilms plans for the future but expect some changes and take these all with a grain of salt. More information should start to fall into place after Star Wars Celebration. As for now look forward to Star Wars Episode 8 The Last Jedi in theaters December 15, 2017
