Emotional Return for Luke In ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’

According to Making Star Wars Luke Skywalker is set to have a very emotional story-arc in Episode VIII. There is said to be an emotional reunion with Chewie, and Artoo-Detoo. The three of them back together again would only be made better with Han Solo present.

“Luke is going to train Rey like Yoda trained him but with his own “spin on it.” I think Luke’s reluctance to train Rey is wholly different from Yoda’s reluctance about Luke being the right candidate.”

Rey is said to be let down by her hero Luke when they first meet on Arch-to.

“Luke will tell Rey about her true connection to the Force and what it means. It is also Rey that brings this non-blood family together again in the wake of the tragedy of losing Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It really makes you think about how much blood lines don’t matter as much as the families we make.”

With how Luke failed teaching the Jedi ways he was taught it is very possible that Luke will train Rey in a much different way to avoid the same mistake as he had with Ben Solo. So far there is no official confirmation that Luke and Leia will see each other in the film but Rey is reportedly the catalyst that get Luke in the fight against the First Order. Also a new animal called “Progs” are birds on the ancient Jedi world and are mainly around Luke but also there is said to be touching moments with the birds and Chewbaca as he gets back to his Wookie roots.

‘Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi’ is in theaters December 15, 2017.
