It’s been assumed that the Spider-Man Sony spinoffs will take place in a separate universe than the upcoming film, but that may not be the case. According to Amy Pascal,  “Venom” and “Silver Sable And Black Cat” seemingly take place in the same universe as “Spider-man: Homecoming.”

In an interview with Filmstarts, Amy Pascal may have just confirmed that the spinoffs take place in Spider-man’s world. When asked about ‘Venom’ and ‘Silver Sable and Black Cat’, she said the following;

  •  “Well those movies all take place in the world that we are now creating for Peter Parker. There maybe different locations but it will still all be in the same world and they will connected to each other as well. “

She was then asked whether or not Tom Holland could appear in those films.

  • “There’s a chance. There’s always a chance. I think that one of the things that Kevin has done with the Marvel that’s so brilliant and is by bringing the fans along and making each movie seems like a chapter in a book. You have to read that chapter to go forward.”

Although it seems pretty exciting that ‘Venom’ may take place in the MCU, chances are that the spinofff characters will only be able to crossover in Spidey films and not the MCU.

What Amy say’s is also a bit contradictory to what Kevin Feige said recently about ‘Venom; “No plans to incorporate it into the MCU – current. This is Sony’s project. ” But in the new interview, Feige doesn’t deny what she’s saying so it really seems like Sony has the control of who’s in the ‘Spider-man:Homecoming’ Universe.

Something to remember is that producer Amy Pascal could have misspoke and the spinoffs won’t be in the same universe as ‘Spider-man:Homecoming.’ It seems pretty clear what she meant in the interview but there’s always that possibility.
