James Cameron’s ‘AVATAR 2’ Will Be 3D, But Without The Need Of 3D Glasses!

Over the course of several years, James Cameron has shown how committed he is to the Avatar series. Even with only one being released so far, Cameron has made it clear that he has big plans for the franchise. Thanks to a report from Inquisitr, Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ sequel will include an insane technological innovation.

Cameron and his production company, Lightstorm Entertainment, has extended their partnership with Christie Digital, with one goal in mind. They are planning to provide, as the report put it, “RGB laser projection systems that will exclude the need for 3D glasses to watch a 3D film.” The projection systems are said to provide bright images at a high frame rate. Resulting in “crystal clear, sharp images, eliminating 3D glasses.”

This would obviously be a tremendous feat. The original ‘Avatar’ was a revered as a technological triumph at the time of its release in 2009. The sequels were quickly put in development but issue after issue has come up delaying production.

Anticipation for the sequels has simmered down over the last few years but this development will likely peak the interest of some of the original audience. –Jackson Hayes
