So first, Amy Pascal said that the Sony Spider-Man villain movies will exist in the same world as Spider-Man: Homecoming, and the internet went crazy. Then, she and Kevin Feige revealed that they in fact don’t exist in the MCU. Fans were a little disappointed, but there was still some hope that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man could show up in those movies. Now, Kevin Feige has said that the MCU Spidey won’t be appearing in those films, or at least in the ‘Venom’ movie.
Variety was lucky enough to interview Kevin Feige at the premiere of ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ last night, and they asked him if Spider-Man will appear in Venom. He simply responded, “No,” so there’s really not room for interpretation on that. Spider-Man will not be appearing in the ‘Venom’ movie.
He also had this to say about the ‘Venom’ movie itself:
“I think the folks there are making a great ‘Venom’ movie and I don’t know much about it, but I know they’re off to a good start with Tom Hardy.”
However, he didn’t comment on wether or not Spidey will be appearing in ‘Silver and Black’ or any of Sony’s other planned movies, but it’s probably safe to say that he won’t be in those either.
Since Kevin Feige doesn’t have any control over those Sony movies, it is possible that they could be using their own iteration of Spider-Man in their movies, but fans probably wouldn’t react well to having two Spider-Men existing at the same time. There is also the very small chance that Kevin Feige could be lying to us, in order to maintain the surprise, but I doubt it.
