The first Suicide Squad film debuted last year in August, managing to gross 745.6 million on a budget of 175 million worldwide. However the film was met with both critical and fan backlash, with one of those criticisms being that Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress was a weak villain for the film.
However for fans fearing in her possible return for the yet to be dated Suicide Squad sequel, you shouldn’t worry anymore as while on the Valerian press junket, in an interview with USA Today, Cara Delevingne was asked if her character will not return for a sequel, she responded with the following:
“Pretty sure. It was a life-changing experience and of course I’d do another one, but I don’t think it would make sense for the character. I’ll probably still be on the set hanging out with everyone.”
However it is still possible that the future director chosen for the sequel has plans for her to return, it seems that we won’t be seeing Enchantress in the Suicide Squad films again. Suicide Squad 2 currently has no set director or date however Jaume Collet-Serra (THE SHALLOWS) is rumoured to be the front runner for directing the sequel and could be possibly be announced at this years upcoming San Diego Comic Con.
