Todd McFarlane, the Image Comics co-founder, announced today that the long awaited Spawn movie is officially in development for Blumhouse, the studio known for films like The Purge, Paranormal Activity, and The Belko Experiment. McFarlane will direct.
McFarlane has been writing the script and teasing the return of Spawn to the big screen ever since the critically panned movie in 1998. While on a Facebook Livestream, he announced that he signed a deal with Jason Blum just yesterday and, “it’s time to make movies.”
“Blumhouse. Spawn. Badass. R. It’s coming, we’re going into production.”
This has been something fans have wanted for a long time, and its finally becoming a reality. We should be getting more information soon regarding production dates and story.
