‘The Martian’ Actress Jessica Chastain announced via Instagram, that she is set to join the latest movie of the X-Men franchise, ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’.
According to Heroic Hollywood:
Chastain was reported to be in talks in June for the role of Lilandra, the empress of an alien empire called the Shi’ar, who leads the quest to imprison and execute Dark Phoenix, leading her into conflict with the X-Men.
Chastain would be joining fellow actor Lamar Johnson as the newest members of an already large cast. It is unknown what role Johnson would be playing in ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’.
James McAvoy (Professor Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Evan Peters (Quicksillver), Kodi-Smit McPhee (Nightcrawler), Alexandra Shipp (Storm) and Sophie Turner (Jean Grey) are all returning. Simon Kinberg is taking over the director’s helm.
‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ is currently in production in Montreal and will continue shooting until mid-October.
‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ is expected to be in theaters November 2nd, 2018.
