For years, Aquaman was never taken seriously because of the character’s goofiness and comedy chops in tv cartoon shows like, ‘Super Friends’. Well, according to ‘Aquaman’ director, James Wan, the movie will show a new look of Aquaman.
In an interview with The Wrap, Wan praised fellow DCEU director, Zach Snyder and his decision to cast Jason Momoa as Aquaman in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’, saying it was “a stroke of genius”.
Wan told The Wrap:
“Momoa is not a guy that you would go to and make fun of. I really think you remove any of the stigma of the character from the cartoons that we are familiar with.”
Momoa will next star as Aquaman with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Ezra Miller as The Flash and Ray Fisher as Cyborg in ‘Justice League’, coming out in theaters, November 17.
‘Aquaman’ comes out in theaters, December 21, 2018.
