The world was stunned when it was reported a Joker origin film, seperate from the DCEU, was in development. Iconic director Martin Scorsese was also reportedly attached as a producer, with Warner Bros. apparently using his connections to try to lure mega-actor Leonardo DiCaprio to the film.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. will “make an ambitious attempt to use Scorsese to bring Leonardo DiCaprio into the world of comic-book movies.” However, Scorsese’s deal to produce is not finalized.
DiCaprio and Scorsese have worked multiple times in the past, on projects like ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ and ‘The Departed’. They’ve become one of the stronger actor and director duos.
THR went on to say that director Todd Philips wants DiCaprio or another A-lister to portray The Clown Prince of Crime. Although, there is no offer to DiCaprio at this point.
This story is still developing….
