Benicio Del Toro’s role in ‘Star Wars The Last Jedi’ has been shrouded in mystery since it was first announced he would play a role in the film. Still very little information is available on his character but we have learned his name, well at least what they have been calling the character. DJ has been the given name for the character although Rian Johnson has said this isn’t his real name.
Thanks to Force Friday II the Star Wars community has been given more insight to ‘Star Wars The Last Jedi’. One specific toy, a DJ Funko Pop could have just revealed why the character has been given the nickname “DJ” for the film.
On DJ’s hat written in Aurebesh, which is the written form of Galactic Basic the most common language spoken in the Star Wars Galaxy, is “Don’t Join”. Now what “Don’t Join” stands for or what it entirely means is still a mystery. Could it be in support of one of the two forces fighting to control the galaxy? Could This be the reason why Del Toro is being refereed to as “DJ”?
Let us know what you think “don’t Join’ being written on DJ’s hat means by tweeting us at @SuperBroMovies. ‘Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi’ will be released on December 15, 2017.
