Recently new production details regarding the Hellboy reboot have surfaced online. It has been revealed that the film is slated to begin principal photography around mid-September.
Along with this news it was also revealed that Hellboy is scheduled to film in Bulgaria and the United Kingdom. Which backs up earlier reports that the film’s production would spend time in the U.K.
An early synopsis for the film has also been released:
The film is about Hellboy going to England, where he must defeat Nimue, Merlin’s consort and the Blood Queen. But their battle will bring about the end of the world, a fate he desperately tries to turn away.
This update comes just a week after it was announced actor Ed Skrein would be dropping out of the film. Skrein, who had been cast in the role of Asian-American character Ben Daimio, left the film after whitewashing criticisms began to surface.
