According to Omega Underground, the ‘Shazam!’ production will be working under the name, Franklin. It makes sense considering Benjamin Franklin was the first to experience lighting. Shazam is the God of lighting. It is believed that director David F. Sandberg is paying tribute to the man on the one hundred dollar bill.

Sandberg using Franklin could also mean a tease to where the production could potentially shoot at: Philadelphia. Omega Underground hasn’t confirmed it yet until they spot locations for the film with more production information, but it is something to think about once the production goes into full effect after casting calls and production crews being put together are done.

It is common in the film industry that productions work under working titles during the casting and production phases because often times, they don’t want to generate an attention as well as a distraction to the locations that they would be filming at. As they only have so much time to film.

Actors John Cena and Joshua Sasse were confirmed to be the frontrunners for the role of Shazam, but don’t count out actor Derek Theler as well. While we have yet to hear who are in the running for the role of Billy.

Thathashtagshow.com has listed the description for Billy:

“Male, 12-15 years old. A teenager who becomes Captain Marvel, the world’s mightiest mortal. Granted access to incredible powers by the wizard Shazam, he speaks the wizard’s name and is struck by a lightning bolt that gives him the powers of the gods.”

‘Shazam!’ Starts shooting in February of 2018, with the movie slated to appear in theaters 2019.
