Netflix has been slowly revealing new information about its next Marvel installment, The Punisher. Thanks to Comicbook, we have our newest piece of information: a synopsis.

You can check it out below:

After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.

The series will pick up where Daredevil Season 2 left off, the series that introduced Frank Castle to the Marvel Netflix franchise. Castle was an incredibly popular character in the show and his introduction in Daredevil is what got him his own series.

Netflix and Marvel have been keeping the public in the dark about the series, revealing small bits of news every once in a while. We know flashbacks to Castle’s military career will likely be included and the official Punisher Twitter page recently tweeted 13 times in morse code, likely to be the episode titles.

And on August 21st, a new teaser was released for the series:

We have all this but still don’t know exactly when the series will release. It is said to release in 2017 and filming wrapped in April, but no official date has been announced. It is rumored for a November release and Jon Bernthal does “not want to let people down” with this series.
