Just when we thought DC Comic’s hit event Metal couldn’t get any more epic, it does just that. It was recently announced that the event will be getting its own official soundtrack.
It was announced at last week’s NYCC that in collaboration with Warner Bros. Records, DC Entertainment is producing a soundtrack f songs inspired by the event series.
Greg Capullo, artist for Metal said:
“As both a musician and fan of heavy metal music, having a soundtrack for Dark Nights: Metal is pretty awesome. I really like the concept of having hard-driving, heavy music as a complement to the incredible story that Scott and I are telling.”
Composer Tyler Bates, whose credits include Watchmen, 300, Guardians of the Galaxy, is using his experience as lead guitarist for Marilyn Manson to make something that fits the premise and tone of Metal. The soundtrack will be co-produced by Mike Elizondo, senior vice president of A&R at Warner Bros. Records, who’s worked with the likes of Dr. Dre, Eminem, Twenty One Pilots, Muse and Mastodon.
Snyder also commented on the news of the soundtrack:
“I’m really honored by this. So many of the Batman stories that Greg and I have worked on together have been fueled or influenced by music that inspired us; this story in particular has rock and metal music as the engine driving it all. To have something like this come together is a huge thrill.”
No news yet on when the soundtrack could possibly be released so stay tuned to SuperBroMovies for any updates! – Jacob Campbell
