‘THE RAID’ Director Gareth Evans In Talks To Direct A ‘DEATHSTROKE’ Film

Well this is a surprise. Gareth Evans, who famously directed the hit ‘The Raid‘, in talks to direct a solo Deathstroke film for Warner Bros.

The Wrap’s Umberto Gonzalez reports that Warner Bros. is in talks to have him direct the film with Joe Manganiello starring as Slade Wilson.

  • Evans who initially passed on directing “Justice League Dark,” however impressed DC executives with his Deathstroke pitch that the company decided to go forward with a spinoff film.

The character was seemingly shelved after Matt Reeves took over ‘The Batman‘, it seemed like the character’s future in the DC film universe was in trouble.  Joe Manganiello wasn’t sure about his character after the news, but now it seems like they finally have a plan with the villain.

The prospect of getting that type of director for a Deathstroke film is pretty awesome. Let’s just hope he have a good story to tell and that the action would be as amazing as it is in his previous films.
