Justin Lin, Jordana Brewster to Return to the ‘FAST AND FURIOUS’ Franchise

Despite what you may be seeing on Instagram and Twitter from The Rock, Vin Diesel and Tyrese, the Fast and Furious franchise is one of the most dominant series of films in cinematic history and there are absolutely no signs of stopping.

With the promise of a spin off staring The Rock and Jason Statham’s characters and the ninth official installment of the series coming in 2019 and 2020, Warner Bros are quickly placing all the pieces of the puzzle.

Justin Lin, the director of “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift,” “Fast & Furious,” & and “Fast & Furious 6” as well as “Star Trek Beyond” and a few episodes of “Community” is returning to the franchise for the first time since 2013 to helm both the 9th and 10th Fast and Furious films.

Additionally, following her opinions about the lack of representation for the franchise’s female characters, Jordana Brewster will be returning to the series following her character’s assumed departure after the events of “Fast 7.” Brewster’s character along with husband Brian O’Conner, played by Paul Walker, were written out of the series as retired after the tragic death of Walker back in 2013.

How Lin plans to bring the character back into the fold and how the entire team plans to up the ante following the crazy high stakes that have been raised in the most recent films remains to be seen but it seems that despite bad blood between The Rock and Tyrese, the old gang is getting back together.
