A day after Netflix announced that House of Cards would be coming back for a 6th and final season, they’ve also announced alongside producers Media Rights Capital that they will be halting production. This is due to the sexual harassment scandal that involves one of the lead actors in the show, Kevin Spacey. In a statement, Netflix and MRC said:

MRC and Netflix have decided to suspend production on House of Cards season six, until further notice, to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew

This all comes after “Star Trek” actor Anthony Rapp alleged that Spacey made sexual advances towards him when he was 14, and Spacey was 26. Spacey took to twitter to apologize to Rapp, to which he also came out as a gay man. He’s received heavy criticism from almost every member of the Hollywood atmosphere as they see that Spacey is using his coming out to deflect the allegations of sexual assault. The news has show runners looking at possible spinoffs for the show, including one based on Doug Stamper, Michael Kelly’s character. Would you be interested in watching a spinoff? Let us know at @SuperBroMovies. –Kenneth Colon
