Everybody’s favorite action star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, has been attached to play the famous Shazam villain, Black Adam, since all the way back to 2008. We have yet to see him appear in the DCEU, but many are expecting him to show up in the solo Shazam movie, if not there, then in Black Adam’s own solo movie. However, we may see him sooner than that. The Wrap is reporting that Black Adam will be introduced in the sequel to Suicide Squad.
The sequel reportedly has the members of the Suicide Squad being tasked to track down a weapon of mass destruction, which is none other than Black Adam himself. The movie is scheduled for a production start of October 2018 and is expected to be written and possibly directed by Gavin O’Connor, says The Wrap.
This sounds like a very intriguing plot and a great way to introduce this highly anticipated villain into the universe, however, it’s difficult to see how the Suicide Squad will fair against the mighty Black Adam, who has gone toe to toe with Superman in the comics.
Johnson has been teasing big things to come in the DCEU, so perhaps this is it.
