Here’s some news you probably weren’t expecting today. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony is currently developing a Morbius the Living Vampire movie set in their ‘Spider-Man’ universe.

The script was written by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, who also wrote the recent ‘Power Rangers’ film. The film has been in secret development for some time.

Sharpless and Sazama also wrote ‘Dracula Untold’ for Universal, meaning they have some experience working with Vampires.

Morbius originally appeared in  The Amazing Spider-Man #101 and has been a villain for Peter Parker for many years. He later went on to become more of an anti-hero when he received his own title.
