A large topic of debate surrounding the highly anticipated Infinity War is who will die? In the 10 year history of the MCU, we haven’t had a lot of major character deaths, so fans are expecting many to bite the dust next year. But there’s one group of heroes who many assume will be safe, the Guardians of the Galaxy. Considering they still have at least one more film left, and they won’t be playing a large role in the film, they will most likely remain alive during the Infinity War, right? Well, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn is hinting that this might not be the case.

A fan took to twitter to ask why Drax had not been confirmed for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but the other Guardians had been. James Gunn responded saying that those other characters may in fact not be confirmed:

Here he is heavily implying that one or some of them may not survive the Infinity War. We know that Infinity War will have profound impacts throughout the MCU, but no one expected it to affect the minor characters this much.

If I were to guess, I would say Drax dies at the hands of Thanos. He is vengeful for the death of his family, and his arrogance will probably get the best of him. This would also give the Guardians extra incentive to help in the battle against Thanos.

Do you think a Guardian will die in Infinity War? If so, which one? Let us know on Twitter.
