‘WONDER WOMAN’ Director Patty Jenkins On The Shortlist For TIME Magazine’s Person Of The Year

Whether or not you’re a fan of Wonder Woman, you can’t really deny the significance and impact the film has had this year. Not only did it make over 800 million globally in the box office, but it also won the hearts of most fans and critics. It’s a bonafide hit, and it’s all thanks to the director, Patty Jenkins. She did a great job with it, and it seems like a lot of people have taken notice.

On the “Today” show, TIME announced the announced the 2017 Person of the Year shortlist. One of the standouts, and a pretty big surprise to many, is the inclusion of Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins. She’s the only female that has made it in this years shortlist while it also includes Donald Trump, Kim Jong Un, Colin Kaepernick, and more.

After the announcement was made, fans of hers and the film were very happy to say the least. I can tell you we were pretty excited that a comic-book film director, that’s also a woman, has a good chance at being TIME’s person of the year. Patty Jenkins herself was of course excited as well when she reacted to the announcement via Twitter, take a look.

There are a lot of big names on the list, so although I personally don’t think she has the best chance of getting it, she has my vote nonetheless. A lot has happened, but I think it would be quite special to have someone that conveys one of the better things to happen in the year. TIME Magazine isn’t the definitive way of selecting the person of the year of course, but there’s still something to be said about Jenkins being on the shortlist for a big title.
