Disney’s acquisition of a bulk of 21st Century Fox’s assets, worth a reported $65 billion, is expected to be announced anytime now. Meaning it’s only a matter of time before the news comes that Fox’s movie rights have been transferred to Disney and we all know what that means, the X-Men and Fantastic Four will likely be handed back to Marvel, with them being able to appear in Marvel Studios films.
As excited as everyone is for that, no one is more pumped at this prospect than Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. According to Deadline, Feige is “said to be eager to get his hands on the X-Men Universe”.
Feige has an extensive knowledge of all things Marvel and that includes the X-Men. He was made an associate producer on the first X-Men film based solely on his knowledge of the Marvel Universe. He went on to produce X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, all of which were Fox made films.
So barring any unforeseen setbacks, the X-Men will be back at Marvel where they began and Feige will once again be able to leave his mark on some of the most iconic comic book characters of all time.
