Last week, an audition tape surfaced on Vimeo revealing an actress reading lines for the role of Gwen Stacy. Omega Underground unsurfaced that first tape and have since revealed a second. The second tape shows Luxembourgian actress Iris Haller reading the same lines that were read in the first tape.

Many believe this tape may be from an open casting call for the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel that is set to release in 2019. Homecoming was praised heavily for the chemistry between its young cast and Marvel appears to be adding another young talent to the mix.
Liz Allen leaving New York at the end of the first film left a hole in terms of a love interest for Peter and Marvel may hold off on making Zendaya’s MJ that character for now. Peter and Gwen have an iconic relationship, one that was in the forefront for the Amazing Spider-Man films.
As likely as it is that this casting call is for the Homecoming sequel, keep in mind that Sony is also beginning a Spider-Man Cinematic Universe sans Spidey and Stacy could be in their plans. Spider-Gwen has become a very popular comics character and Sony could have future plans for that character and may have her appear in one of their upcoming projects.
