RUMOR: Riz Ahmed’s Villainous Role in ‘VENOM’ Revealed in First Look

Sony’s upcoming film, ‘VENOM’, has caused quite the stir since it’s inception. The film was heavily criticized since it was announced due to its apparent non-inclusion in the MCU. That weighed around the film heavily, but casting news that revealed that Tom Hardy would be playing the titular character, along with a great supporting cast that features Michelle Williams and Riz Ahmed, has turned the film into one of the most anticipated releases of next year. There’s still not much clarity in regards to Williams’ role, but a new set picture provided by @AtlantaFilming may have given us news regarding Ahmed’s character

The picture shows Ahmed walking in full costume, that being a suit per se; but which character is he now rumored to be portraying? Take a look for yourself…

The tweet mentions Drake, as in Carlton Drake? In today’s Marvel history lesson, Carlton Drake made his first appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #298 (1988), and has a vast knowledge of symbiotes, as he is the leader of the Life Foundation.

Nothing is confirmed to this point, but it does make sense. Drake is the leader of the Life Foundation, which in the comics created 5 symbiotes forcibly spawned from Venom, these being: Agony, Phage, Riot, Lasher, and Scream. This doesn’t mean this is the route the film is taking, but it sure makes sense if Ahmed is indeed playing this character in ‘VENOM’.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Ahmed is playing this character? Would you like to see him as Carlton Drake or another character? Let us know at @SuperBroMovies
