You know that scene at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming where Aunt May discovers that her nephew, Peter Parker, is actually Spider-Man? Well, that scene was planned way before Marvel got the opportunity to share the character rights with Sony. Marvel President Kevin Feige had wrote an letter about the iconic character in 2008 after the comic series, Spider-Man: One More Day, written by J. Michael Straczynski, came out.

According to Reddit, Feige pretty much had a pen to paper promise that if he ever got the opportunity to work with Peter Parker, the one moment that he had his mind set on filming was that Aunt May would find out that Peter was Spider-Man.

Feige promised Aunt May:Spiderman Discovery

Aunt May discovering Peter’s secret identity in the final shot of Spider-Man: Homecoming, when she finds Peter all suited up as Spider-Man and says, “What the f*ck?”. The two Peter Parkers that I grew up with (Tobey McGuire and Andrew Garfield) were never exposed to Aunt May as Spider-Man on the big screen respectively. With Aunt May, played by Marisa Tomei, knowing that her nephew (Tom Holland) is Spider-Man, brings a plot twist to a different ball game. Where does Aunt May and Peter go from there in their relationship? It will be interesting to see how well Aunt May takes it all in and where the storyline will move towards.

Aunt May and Peter Parker

It can go in different directions. One possibility is that it could ultimately lead to Aunt May reluctantly accepting that her nephew is a superhero and has to come to an understanding that Peter needs to be there for the people that need the young superhero. It could also increase the possibility that Aunt May could be in greater danger because she might want to do something to help that could lead her to getting hurt. Who knows what storyline they could go with.

The next time we could see Aunt May is likely Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel in Phase 4 as Tomei is not expected to appear Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers 4.

Do you have any ideas of what storyline they could with now that Aunt May discovered that Peter is Spider-Man? Be sure to tweet your thoughts @SuperBroMovies on Twitter!
