SPECULATION: Does Dave Bautista’s Rumored Return To The WWE Mean Drax Will Soon Meet His End

With the upcoming Marvel Studio’s film Avengers: Infinity War promising to leave the MCU drastically changed, it’s no doubt that many of our favorite heroes will meet their ends. In fact both the Russo brothers and James Gunn have hinted at the inevitable deaths. The Russo have even narrowed it down to a select few characters it could be and Gunn has stated that no Guardians of the Galaxy are safe in Infinity War or Avengers 4. And now, a recent rumor circulating about Dave Bautista has led to some speculation that his character Drax the Destroyer will be the one to meet his end.

A new report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter which covers the pro wrestling and mixed martial arts industries has stated that Bautista is “very serious” about a WWE return, which would be projected to last “a relatively lengthy” span of “six months to a year.” And while this may be good news to fans of wrestling it would prove to be a huge obstacle for his Hollywood career. This is due to many studios not wishing to deal with the various contractual conflicts and injuries that come with working with the WWE. In fact it were these very concerns that forced Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to fully retire from wrestling in 2013.

What this means is that it could spell doom for the fan favorite character Drax, who is appearing in next year’s Avengers: Infinity War. If Bautista returns to the WWE they would own his contract, meaning Marvel would have to negotiate with them whenever they wish to use the actor in the MCU.

So while Infinity War has already wrapped production, filming for Avengers 4 is still underway. And with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 not having entered production yet, if Bautista does in fact return to WWE, the Guardian who will be missing from the Milano could be Drax.
