In the buildup to the release of DC’s upcoming new series Titans we have been lucky enough to get some looks at the costumes that will be worn by some of the series’ cast. Well now it seems we may have something even more interesting, a new casting breakdown that could hint at an appearance by a classic Teen Titans’ villain. However, it is difficult to say with certainty who the character may be but from the description given we have narrowed it down to be either Trigon or Brother Blood.
The new character breakdown is for a character that will be featured in two episodes that will air before the finale of the first season, which is currently filming its pilot in Toronto, Canada. The breakdown can be seen below.
“[EVAN LOGUE]: Male, Late 30s-40s, Caucasian. Charismatic. A cult leader attempting to reunite his family. Central role for series finale. RECURRING GUEST STAR. Please submit star/cameo names. Casting early for wardrobe but the role works Ep. 111 (04/09-04/19) and Ep. 112 (04/19 – 05/01)”
We first belive that the character is none other than Raven’s father, the demon Trigon. Trigon has long been a main villain for the Teen Titans, first appearing in The New Teen Titans #2 in 1981, both animated series Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go, and most recently Justice League vs. Teen Titans. The fact the breakdown mentions “attempting to reunite his family” is what leads us to think its Trigon since the character has long tried to have his daughter join him. And since we know the series is looking to cast Arella, Raven’s mother, we further belive the Trigon theory.
However, our second theory is that the show may try to save Trigon for a later season and work up to him. At which point this breakdown could be for the character Brother Blood. This would also make sense as it mentions “A cult leader” and Blood is the leader of the Church of Blood, a cult dedicated to killing Trigon.
Either character would be a great edition to the series and could end up being introduced in the two episode arc and then built up to over time.
