It was rumored a while back the The Dark Knight himself Christian Bale was in the running for a role in Solo: A Star Wars Story, said role ended up going to Woody Harrelson. He was nearly a big part of the film, and it would’ve been his first role in the Star Wars universe. Recent comments from him have surfaced and it seems like he’s still interested in joining the galaxy far far away.

While speaking on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, Bale confirmed he was in talks to join the upcoming solo film about the famous smuggler of the galaxy. He also talked about how he had a good relationship with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall.

“Yes, [it was] very tempting. I not only love the films going back to my childhood but also have a very long relationship with Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall because they did Empire of the Sun many years back. There was discussion, [and] I hope there will be future discussions.”

It seems like we may very well see him in a Star Wars film if everything aligns next time around as he is surely up for it. He also goes on to reveal how much he, and his family, have loved Star Wars for years.

“Star Wars I’m a huge fan. Yeah Star Wars really interests me. I’ve still got the Millennium Falcon, I’ve got the AT-AT. My daughter, her first love was Darth Vader. She absolutely adored Darth Maul. [She] stood near him at Disneyland and he growled and he’s got those teeth and he stayed in character, really wonderful performance, and she was teeny and I thought, ‘This is gonna scare the crap out of her, this is such a bad idea.’ And then she stopped and she said, ‘Daddy, I’m in love.’

Yeah he definitely needs to be in a Star Wars movie. Not his he a fantastic actor, but is also a huge fan of the property. This is actually pretty rare nowadays, so I’m sure LucasFilm will try again soon to get him in the universe. Perhaps he could appear in Rian Johnson’s new trilogy or even in Episode 9, What do you guys think?
