‘WONDER WOMAN 2’ Will Be Totally Different Says Director Patty Jenkins

When ‘Wonder Woman’ shook the entertainment industry back in June, a sequel was immediately in the question. Fans loved the film and really wanted to see Patty Jenkins return for another film. Lucky for us, it was announced last year that Jenkins would indeed return to direct a sequel for ‘Wonder Woman’. Questions arose fast, with many asking about the time the sequel will take place in, and if Chris Pine will return.

The reception to ‘Wonder Woman’ was met with immense success, making it one of the highest grossing films of 2017. The bar was set high and they plan on surpassing that bar, setting it even higher. ‘Wonder Woman’ is the only DCEU film that has been met with such high praise, and they hope to keep that streak going. Patty Jenkins stated how this film will be totally different compared to its predecessor. Jenkins told ET:

We’re actually making a totally different film with a lot of the same, similar like things that we love, but it’s its own movie completely, so it’s not ‘two’ to us. It’s an entirely new adventure together that we couldn’t be luckier [to do].

Jenkins also talked a little bit on how they would love to include the original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, as scheduling issues prevented her from appearing in the first film.

There is not much we know about the film with its release being nearly 2 years away. Throughout 2018 we will surely figure out more and more on the sequel. Production on ‘Wonder Woman 2’ is slated to begin this summer with Gal Gadot reprising her role as Wonder Woman once again.
