Although it’s early to tell how much money the film will eventually make in the opening box office, early ticket sales for Black Panther already suggest that it will be making more than most of the MCU. After commencing the ticket sale last Monday, including a new trailer, Fandango is reportedly selling tickets for the film like crazy.

Coming from Deadline, they report that Fandango ticket sales for Black Panther are outpacing Captain America: Civil War in the first 24 hours, where the character made his first appearance in the MCU. Civil War is also Fandango’s best-selling MCU title in for the firs 24 hours presale window.

Typically there’s no concrete correlation between the final box office and the ticket presale, but for Marvel it’s different. It’s one of the first ways the studio can tell if one of their films is currently popular and highly anticipated, and it seems like Black Panther certainly is. The estimates for the opening weekend numbers have yet to be released, but there’s a good chance it could beat Deadpool’s  February record of $132.4M.

All data points to that Marvel Studios is about to have a mega box-office hit on their hands next month, and it’s only a solo movie.
