Fox’s upcoming film Gambit which will follow the solo adventures of the charismatic card-throwing mutant has had quite a shakeup recently. Today it was not only announced that the film had lost its director but it has also had its release date pushed back from February 14, 2019, to June 7, 2019. In the official report from The Hollywood Reporter that announced the new release date, it was also mentioned how some insiders have described the film.
According to studio insiders, the film will have a heavy comedic tone revolving around a heist. It is for this reason that the film was pushed back as they feel it will do better as a summer movie.
The news that the movie will have a heavy comedic tone is not surprising as its star, Channing Tatum is no stranger to action comedies. He starred in both 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street both very well received action comedies.
With such little information about the film available as of yet, it is refreshing to see any news about the upcoming movie.
Gambit will release June 7, 2019
