Ever since Warner Bros. announced their DC films slate fans have been clamoring for any and all news about Chris McKay’s Nightwing. But as of late the state of the big-screen adaptation of the iconic hero has been rather uncertain, especially after the most recent shake-up at DC films. So as of now while we have no firm release date and/or casting news to report, the most recent report is that Warner Bros has narrowed its shortlist of stars down to Matt Bomer and Sean Pignatelli.

As of now, this is just a rumor with no official confirmation from Warner Bros. or Chris McKay. Matt Bomer pictured above has also not commented on the recent rumor of his possible Nightwing casting.

Unlike Bomer, Sean Pignatelli, pictured above, has commented on the recent rumor. Pignatelli has addressed the rumor on Facebook and stated,

“It’s so great to hear my name thrown out there with these big stars! This would be the dream of a lifetime and a huge thrill to work with Director Chris Mckay. There would be no questioning, I’d give 210% day in and day out.”

As of now since we have no official word from McKay or Warner Bros. we should take this report with a grain of salt. But McKay has said we should expect some official word next month on the status of the film. So perhaps we may finally know who will take on the mantle of Nightwing.
