Ever since the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 last May, Marvel fans have been eager to get any information they can regarding the franchise’s highly anticipated third installment. Both of James Gunn’s MCU entries have been massive hits with moviegoers, and now the director has revealed exactly what year we can expect to see the return of Star Lord and his band of misfits.
In the tweet above, James Gunn responds to a question from a fan regarding the release of Vol. 3, and reveals that we can expect the Marvel threequel as soon as 2020. Though Marvel Studios appears to have a crowded release schedule ahead of them, it’s good to know that we’ll be seeing the film in just two years.
Though not much else is known about the film at this point, the fan favorite character Adam Warlock was teased in one of Vol. 2’s many post credits scenes, so fans have every reason to be excited about James Gunn’s journey back to the weird and wild corner of Marvel’s cinematic universe.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is now available to own on blu ray, DVD, and digital formats.
