After years of fans asking for it, it was recently announced a Black Widow film is finally happening. The heroine herself Scarlett Johansson is working closely with screenwriter Jac Schaeffer to nail the story down. This has been a long time coming, and it seems like Marvel agrees as Johansson will reportedly make a whopping $25 million.

A new report from the Daily Mail claims that the Avengers Star will be earning a record amount for starring in the solo Black Widow film that’s currently being written. They claim an insider close to the studio says that Marvel/Disney “Scarlett will get a huge payday for the Black Widow film, which Disney believes could eclipse Wonder Woman.”

The solo film making more than Wonder Woman might be a stretch, but if the studio truly believes then it shows they are more confident than ever in the property. The site also adds that beyond the initial $25 million dollar deal that would make her the highest paid actress in Hollywood, she could walk away with 6 million more if the film does great in the box office. More than $900 million to be exact. It’s also being reported that she may also get a producer’s credit on the film.

This is all rumor for now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Johansson ends up making that amount or more. She’s proven she can be a box-office success on her own with Lucy (463.4 mil globally), while Ghost in the Shell is the exception as that film had several other problems to deal with. Personally, Johansson making this much isn’t that surprising as Robert Downey Jr. still makes more than that each film.

You can catch Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow this summer in Avengers: Infinity War.
