Marvel’s Inhumans premiered in IMAX theaters back in September before making its way to television on ABC, where it debuted to a poor reception from fans and critics alike. Now, after a few months of uncertain fate, it seems that the ABC series has met an end.
Spoiler TV has discovered that the show has been pulled from ABC’s official press site, and any attempts to head over to the site’s Inhumans portal lead to an “error 404” page as evidenced below:
Inhumans was notable for being the first ever television series to debut in IMAX theaters, and despite its connection to the shared Marvel Cinematic Universe, it never quite roped in the ratings and reviews that Marvel and ABC were hoping for. It also sits at an awful 10% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which definitely hasn’t done anything to boost the show’s poor reputation.
The property was previously planned to become a full-fledged movie, and even received a formal announcement at a Marvel Studios event back in 2014. A release date for November of 2018 was set, but the film never saw the light of day. Perhaps under the guidance of Kevin Fiege, Inhumans could have been given the proper adaptation it deserves, and it’s a shame that these characters may not be seen on screen again for a very long time.
Marvel’s Inhumans stars Anson Mount, Serinda Swan, Iwan Rheon and Ken Leung.
