Next month’s upcoming Marvel Studios film Black Panther promises to be a hit among fans. It will be the first solo outing for T’Challa, who first appeared in Captain America: Civil War, and will deal with him facing the new responsibilities as both the Black Panther and King of Wakanda. The film looks to have an amazing cast of characters, one character especially, T’Challa’s sister Shuri who we have just found out is the smartest person in the MCU.
In a recent report from Collider, this new information about Shuri was revealed. They were told by Black Panther producer Nate Moore that Shuri is “the smartest person in the world, smarter than Tony Stark.” This is very interesting as Tony Stark has always been portrayed as the resident genius in the MCU. Could this reveal mean a change in the status quo, with new younger characters taking prominence in the films?
This isn’t just all talk from Moore however as character details for Shuri back up the claim. While T’Challa was off during Civil War, Shuri became the head of the Wakanda Design Group at the age of 16. Shuri has helped to bring Wakanda to the forefront of the technological world and will be an asset to her brother in the film.
Along with Moore’s statement, Shuri herself backed up the claim of being smarter than Stark in the Avengers: Infinity War prelude comic.
Shuri herself states outright that she is smarter than Tony Stark. But just how smart is still unknown, for that we will have to wait and see what she can do in Black Panther.
Black Panther hits theaters February 16, 2018.
