Production has wrapped for the Venom movie. Tom Hardy (playing Eddie Brock/Venom) recently shared a new photo on his Instagram page in celebration.
Titled, “Wrapped life back Bye 👋 ,” you can check it out below:
The photo is nothing special in terms of offering new information regarding the upcoming movie. But it does confirm that Venom has wrapped production. This could mean we may be getting a trailer fairly soon, especially as it is set to release later this year (October 5th).
The cast of the upcoming movie will include Riz Ahmed (recently seen in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Nightcrawler), Michelle Williams (Manchester By the Sea, My Week with Marilyn, and Blue Valentine), and Jenny Slate (Parks and Recreation, Zootopia, and The Secret Life of Pets). Tom Holland is rumored to make an appearance in the movie as well, playing Peter Parker (but not Spider-Man). There is also speculation that Carnage, another symbiotic, born from Venom, will appear in the movie.
Sony is currently working on a movie titled Silver & Black surrounding the minor Spider-Man characters Black Cat and Silver Sable and a Morbius: The Living Vampire movie based on the lower-than-C-list villain, Morbius. These 2 movies are joining Venom to be a part of a shared universe based on Spider-Man characters while potentially not featuring Spider-Man.
An official synopsis has not yet been released for Venom but it seems it will be based on the 1993 Venom: Lethal Protector story.
Venom releases in theaters on October 5th, 2018.
