German magazine, Panini Vorschau, has a new edition with a cover for Avengers: Infinity War.
Reddit user, u/whatshyped deserves the credit for finding and sharing the poster. The artist is unknown. You can check the poster out below:
The style of the cover is like that of the 1991 classic story, Infinity Gauntlet (Jim Starlin and George Pérez), which Avengers: Infinity War is likely to be loosely adapted from. The Infinity Gauntlet cover is shown below:
In the comic, Thanos, in an attempt to win the love and affection of Death, makes use of his Infinity Gauntlet (with all 6 Infinity Gems: Soul, Mind, Time, Space, Reality, and Power) to wipe out half of the “sentient life in the universe” and causing great destruction across space. Earth’s mightiest heroes (and a few non-Earth heroes too) band together to challenge the Mad Titan. The heroes win and the comic created some now-iconic moments:
Thanos’ defeat stemmed mainly from his own hubris and misplaced faith in his daughter, Nebula, who he abused immensely.
The movie will likely make use of some iconic comic moments from Infinity Gauntlet and probably other comics too, such as Amazing Spider-Man, discussed here.
Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters May 4, 2018.
Avengers: Infinity War– Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
