Chris Hemsworth Open to Playing Next James Bond

The man we know as Thor has recently finished his time as the God of Thunder. As sad as that sounds, we’ve still got years until his final on screen perThormance. With his contract over, the Australian actor now has a lot more options as to what he can do in the film world and is open to one of them happening.

He was recently on the Australian daytime talk show, ‘Sunrise’, where he went more in depth on his future as Thor as well as his love for the James Bond character. With the conclusion of the shooting of the fourth Avengers movie, the actor can officially hang up his armor. However, with the wild success of his third solo movie, Thor: Ragnarok, the actor stated he would gladly come back for a fourth film if the right script came along. He said in the interview:

My contract is coming to an end. We’ve just finished the last two ‘Avengers’ so… who knows what the future holds? It felt like we reinvented that last one in a big way. It felt refreshed and re-energized so… yeah, we might have conversations if there’s another great script that comes along, but at the moment that’s it.

The interview didn’t end there however. The hosts of the show asked him on where else he would like to take his talents and even went as far as to asking if he’d be open to replacing Daniel Craig as 007. Although he said that he’d like to, he acknowledged how English the role of James Bond is. Hemsworth expanded on the idea and said:

Yeah, I mean, I think any actor would jump at that opportunity. I’m certainly a fan. A whole lot of pressure comes with that, though. I think the Bond fan base is probably more critical than the comic book fanbase. I don’t know, there’s plenty of guys who could do a better job than I would. Plenty of English men, and women.

This is all just talk though. Craig is set to reprise his role as the spy in Bond 25. That being said, there has been no confirmation as to who will slip on the suit after Craig. Who knows, maybe Hemsworth will end up being Bond anyways! What are your thoughts on seeing Hemsworth as the most prodigious spy on screen? Let us know over at SuperBroMovies!
