Stranger Things is one of the most successful franchises Netflix has come to release on their streaming platform. With the release of their first season spanning across 8 episodes, it was to many people’s delight that the second season of Stranger Things, titled Stranger Things 2, was a solid 9 episode season.
With scarce details on what’s going on within the third season, it how now been revealed that the show will go back to an 8 episode length, according to TV Line. Some thought that Netflix would make it 10 episodes due to the wild success the show brings. We also know that the show will include a time jump in the third season to compensate with the growing children who star in the series, which means they are now high schoolers. It was also revealed by Shawn Levy that Eleven is not the only special child out there.
That being said, executive producer Dan Cohen said there would be new story told in the next season. He told TV Line:
They’re movies, they really are standalone movies, and they really do fit within the Star Wars films or Harry Potter movies in that they are standalone things where you have enough of a nod to get into the next story, but they can function and you can enjoy on their own.
Now fans can speculate on what will come next. With a near perfect track record, the anticipation for the Stranger Things 3 is through the roof. What are your thoughts on them lowering the episode count? Do you wish they would’ve boosted it up to ten? Let us know over at SuperBroMovies!
