After a very long wait that has lasted over 14 years, fans of The Incredibles can rejoice because the sequel is nearly upon us. With a trailer expected to land this Wednesday, the film is full steam ahead in its marketing campaign. That being said, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures has just released a new synopsis for the highly anticipated sequel and it reads as follows:

In “Incredibles 2,” Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack—whose superpowers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.

The synopsis has a very intriguing aspect of the film in it, that being that Helen appears to be the hero the film is focussing on. In the first film, we saw this with Bob, as we went along with him in his endeavor to help Mirage and destroy the omnidroid. Another thing the synopsis brings up is that of the discovery of Jack Jack’s powers, something that was teased and shown briefly in the last minutes of the first film. The big question remains, that being if the biggest cliffhanger of a generation will be answered as we haven’t seen or heard of The Underminer at all.

What are your thoughts on this? Are you excited for The Incredibles 2? Did the synopsis clear things up for you? Let us know at @SuperBroMovies and in the comments below!
