After being one of the standouts in Marvel’s Black Panther, Letitia Wright’s Shuri has won many fans’ hearts over with her lovable and entertaining performance. So much so that some have been wondering/hoping that she may pick up the mantle of the Black Panther some day after her brother T’Challa, and it seems like the studio is one step ahead.
In some concept art from Marvel’s Black Panther: The Art of the Movie, Shuri is seen wearing a version of the Black Panther costume made for her. Included with the suit are her signature gauntlets, and a nearly shaven head similar to her comic counterpart. Take a look below.
It seems like a slimmed down and stealthy version of the Black Panther suit seen in the film. She’s extremely intelligent and resourceful, so I’m sure she could make an even better suit for her self. In the comics, Shuri once took on the role of the Black Panther for a while, her look was similar to T’Challa’s.
Personally, I would love to see Shuri get an even bigger role in the inevitable Black Panther sequel. Whether or not she’ll be donning a suit herself so soon isn’t clear, but it seems like Marvel has been keeping the idea in mind. If anything she’ll probably get a suit upgrade anyways, and possibly the mantle of the Black Panther down the road.
You can catch Letitia Wright as Shuri in Black Panther currently in theaters.
