New ‘BLACK PANTHER’ Concept Art Shows Unused Design For Killmonger’s Costume

It has been a week since the release of the highly acclaimed Marvel Studios film Black Panther and it is stacking up to be a huge success. The film was filled with many memorable performances with many claiming Michael B. Jordan’s Killmonger is the best villain the MCU has ever seen. But it has now been revealed that the character almost had a very different costume than he did in the film.

During the film Killmonger wears a version of the Black Panther suit called the Golden Jaguar. But it seems based on newly released concept art that his suit was once a much simpler version of the Black Panther suit seen in Captain America: Civil War.

Concept artist Ryan Meinerding recently revealed the art on Twitter. The orignal design for Killmonger’s suit greatly emphasized the character’s scars as can be seen below.

It is unknown why this design was not used but presumably it was to better distinguish T’challa’s purple suit from Killmonger’s golden suit he wore in the film. Still it would have been interesting to see this used in the film.
