‘AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR’ Prelude Comic Reveals The Soul Stone Is The Most Dangerous Infinity Stone

Today on New Comic Book Day part 2 of the Avengers: Infinity War prelude comic was released. While part 1 focused on all of the Avengers and where they were following Captain America: Civil War, this issue focused on the Infinity Stones. The issue saw Wong explain the nature and location of all the stones to Doctor Strange, and revealed that the Soul Stone is in fact the most dangerous of all the stones.

The comic takes place just before Doctor Strange meets with Thor in Thor: Ragnarok in the Sanctum Sanctorum. It begins with Wong bringing up Strange’s Eye of Agamotto which is known to be the MCU’s Time Stone. But Wong goes on to explain the nature of the other five stones. recapping past films from the MCU Wong explained where each of the stones have previously appeared, the Tesseract or Space Stone, appearing on Asgard and eventually falling into the hands of Red Skull and later Loki.

From here he goes on to explain that Loki’s Staff contained the Mind Stone, later powering Vision. The Aether or Reality Stone which was sought after by Malekith in Thor: The Darkworld. Wong even explained the nature of the Orb from Gaurdians of the Galaxy which is the Power Stone. However, Wong still believes the stone is hidden on a remote planet, not knowing the Guardians have delivered it to the Nova Corp.

But from here we finally learn some new information about the sixth and final stone, the Soul Stone. While Wong does not reveal the location of it he does warn Strange that it could “be the greatest threat of them all.” Finally, Wong warns Strange that if anyone got their hands on all the stones it would cause unparalleled chaos.

So while the comic doesn’t explain the location of the stone, we now know some of the Soul Stone’s dangerous nature. So it seems we will have to wait for Infinity War to finally discover who possesses the Soul Stone, whether it be Heimdall or the nation of Wakanda.
