In light of Marvel moving Avengers: Infinity War one week up from its original date, May 4th to April 27th, Marvel is also starting to pick up their marketing for the movie. The Entertainment Weekly has teamed up with Marvel to share eight new exclusive photos. We are going to break down each of the eight photos down below.

Thanos' planet

The first picture we see is Thanos (Josh Brolin) with the infinity gauntlet on his left hand and he also looks to be in an area of ruins. Thanos looks like he is about to do something with the gauntlet and become a nightmare for one of the Avengers that could be fighting him. What’s interesting in this picture, is that there is a planetthat looks like it’s in flames. The flaming planet could be in the process of destruction from Thanos. We saw a shot similar to this from the leaked SDCC trailer where Thanos rains down fire in his enemies.

Doctor Strange, Bruce Banner, Tony Stark, and Wong

Here we have Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), and Wong (Benedict Wong) preparing themselves for what is about to come for them. If you remember from the trailer, they were coming out of what was believed to be the New York Sanctum, Doctor Strange and Wong’s home in Greenwich Village. They could possibly be facing one of the members of the Black Order and possibly a small army with them. We also saw from some promo art that Stark might have a robot hand, but in this photo, it looks like he still has both hands, perhaps Stark doesn’t lose a hand yet in this scene.

War Machine, Captain America, Black Widow

When we last saw Lieutenant James Rhodes/War Machine (Don Cheadle), Captain America/Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), and Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) in Captain America: Civil War, Rhodes was injured badly during the battle at the airport in Germany. Steve Rogers gave up his shield and no longer wears the Captain America mantle and is considered to be a criminal on the run. Since stopping Black Panther from getting to Rogers and Bucky Barnes, Romanoff also looks to be on the run as she has a new hair color to sport her new look. In this scene, we see the three in one room together and it looks like Rhodes is able to walk with mechanical leg crutches that could have been made by Stark. Also, they look like they are allies again. Let’s just say they both have something in common that brought them together again and probably have to put their personal feelings aside while their planet is in danger.

Shuri with Bruce Banner and Scarlet Witch.jpg

After seeing Black Panther, fan favorite Shuri (Leticia Wright) is already back on the big screen in Infinity War. Shuri is seen talking to Banner and Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). Who knows what they’re talking about? Perhaps, they could be sharing information on how to help save the Vision, who has an infinity stone that Thanos is looking for. Or they could be talking weapon strategy to help protect against what is about to come to Wakanda as Shuri and Banner are two of the smartest people in the world.

MARVEL’S AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man

In the first trailer, we see Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland) on the bus and they’re on the bridge when they see an unidentified ship land in the area. Here, Parker is ready to go to work, jumping out of the bus when no one is looking. This scene could lead to seeing Parker on the unidentified ship before it takes off.

This picture looks like it will take place on the ship that helped get the people off of Asgard before it was destroyed by Surtur in Thor: Ragnarok. Loki (Tom Hiddleston) has the serious look of something is bad currently happening and it is possible that the members of the Black Order or Thanos are now on the ship after two ships come upon each other. Loki is probably feeling the that is life is in danger and as we saw in the trailer, Loki was giving up the tesseract to possibly try to save the people of Asgard and Thor or to save himself.

Thor, Teenage Groot and Rocket.jpg

We know that Thor might have got saved by the Guardians of the Galaxy in the first trailer. Here it looks like Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), and teenage Groot (Vin Diesel) are all acquainted and are on some kind of a mission. Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, and Mantis must be on another mission or could be the distraction while Thor, Rocket, and Groot get to their location safely. Groot, being the teenager that he is, is on his device playing games while Thor and Rocket are more focused on what is coming. They could be looking to see if they can find any survivors that were on Thor’s ship coming from Asgard. Fingers crossed that there are!

MARVEL’S AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Chadwick Boseman as T'Chaka/Black Panther

While it is unknown if the last infinity stone is located in Wakanda or not, as we saw in the first trailer, war is inevitably coming to Wakanda. Maybe Thanos thinks Wakanda is a threat to his plans because of the vibranium, so he sends his massive army to take over the country and eliminate it. Well, Wakanda is not going to go down easily as we can see here that King T’Challa/Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) being ready to defend his home and with his entire army against the Thanos and the Black Order. Black Panther also gets help from Rogers and Bucky Barnes, who officially has a new name given by the Wakandan caregivers, the White Wolf (Sebastian Stan), at the front lines. You also can see M’Baku (Winston Duke), leader of the Jabari, in the background to help his fellow king lead the charge.

With these eight photos now out in the public by Entertainment Weekly, it is not that far away that we will see the second official trailer for Avengers: Infinity War coming soon. Expect more marketing to pick up and build up our hype for the movie by the time April 27th comes. What do you think of these new exclusive photos? Does it make you more excited for Infinity War?
