Back when Avengers: Age of Ultron was released, one of the biggest and most controversial takeaways was the budding romance between Bruce Banner and Black Widow. She became his calm when he was the Hulk and he became the monster she could relate to at her lowest.

And fans were either in love with the pairing or completely hated the notion of it. When Hulk became sentient during the final moments of the 2015 sequel and flew his way to Sakaar, which we saw in Thor: Ragnarok, some thought it would be the last they saw of the relationship. However, during the events of the third Thor film, Hulk immediately reacted to the very sight and sound of Black Widow and turned back into the Hulk upon seeing footage of her on the Quinjet.

Mark Ruffalo was recently asked about the idea of BruceNat continuing their relationship in the highly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War.

“They’re star-crossed lovers, so it’ll be something they’re dealing with for the rest of their lives,” he teased. “Whether it’s requited or unrequited, I don’t imagine that’s gonna go away any time soon in one iteration or another.”

A lot has happened to both Natasha and Bruce since Sokovia and it will indeed be bittersweet seeing their reunion amidst the havoc and chaos that is sure to take place in the third Avengers film.
